ITEX Delivery Service

Industrial Terminals, the loadcenter for all of Intermarine’s Americas services, has recently opened new ITEX delivery lanes to expedite the receiving of pre-cleared cargo. (see video of ITEX service)

The new ITEX delivery service allows those trucks that have provided delivery information in advance to go directly to the cargo laydown yard and have the cargo received on a priority basis. Because all the paperwork has been cleared in advance, many deliveries are received in as little as 20 minutes.

The ITEX Delivery System was developed by Industrial Terminals and Gulf Stream Marine (the terminal operator) to reduce the overall terminal congestion and provide faster service to those clients that consistently provide accurate documentation. With truck deliveries late in the week routinely reaching 300 to 400 trucks per day, a way had to be found to turn trucks faster. When using ITEX, all documentation work is certified by the forwarder and processed before the truck arrives. This eliminates the need to reweigh and remeasure, reducing the total turn time considerably. In addition, ITEX trucks are given priority over the regular deliveries.

Clients that wish to partake in the ITEX Delivery Service must make application to Intermarine. Their delivery history will be checked to determine that their paperwork is consistently of high quality. If approved, the client is required to transmit via FAX or Email the truck delivery receipt at least one hour prior to the arrival of the truck at Iterm (Industrial Terminals). During this hour, the delivery information is processed and the truck is pre-cleared for unloading.

To apply for participation in ITEX, parties should contact their Intermarine sales representative at (281) 885-3500 for complete details.

Industrial Terminals, located on the Houston ship channel, is the largest project cargo terminal in the United States and the primary loadcenter for all Intermarine’s North American services.
